The only problem I’ve found with using technology driven heating solutions is that they only ever get used properly by technological people. It’s actually much easier for the majority to reach for the thermostat; I’m trying to imagine educating my dad on the merits of remote access heating control via smartphones, and it doesn’t bear thinking about!

Hi Kieren, please take the time to read my whole series (the final article will be released next Friday) as I think you would find it really useful.

“The only problem I’ve found with using technology driven heating solutions is that they only ever get used properly by technological people.” – I am sorry to say but I couldn’t disagree more. The setup was really easy, I had to do very little, fair enough I am technically minded, but there really wasn’t anything I did that someone with really basic PC skills couldn’t have done.

The use of the app is (as I mentioned above) astoundingly easy. Probably the quickest and easiest app I have ever installed. If you can type a username and password you should have no trouble.

Setting up a heating schedule is also really easy, log in, navigate to the change schedule page and fiddle with the sliders. Well laid out and surprisingly simple.

It may sound a little odd, but as a techie, I am slightly disappointed that it wasn’t more complicated! I would have loved to have advanced technical issues to try and overcome, but there weren’t any!

Read the series in full and let me know if you still hold your current view Kieren.

Thanks for taking the time to add your view, welcome to the blog :-)
